Scotch Mist Raffle

Get smashed!
Courtesy of the Stratford Rotary Club!

The Rotary Club of Stratford is holding a raffle for a prize 500ml bottle of blended 37 year old malts. The bottle is a memorial release by Famous Grouse for the anniversary of Robert Burns 250th anniversary. As a result, only 250 bottles were drawn and distributed to charities across the world - mostly Japan and China. Just how the Noon Club managed to get their paws on a bottle remains a mystery. Famous Grouse is connected with Highland Park and the Macallan so their two malts are in the blend. The bottle is valued at $800.00.

Tickets are $5 each or 3/$10 and can be obtained from Barrie Lees at lees7724@rogers.com.

Drink sensibly and know your limits.

Beach Blanket Bikini Bingo - 25 July 2009

Hello Rotarians,

It took a French Engineer to design the Bikini and on July 25, 1946, it was released to the world at a Paris Fashion Show. He named it after Bikini Atoll which was the site of a U.S. Nuclear Weapons test earlier in that month. He thought that it would have the same impact around the world. Our Saturday evening July 25 Bingo is dedicated to this famous French Engineer Louis Reard. The fun starts at 5:00 p.m.

And for all the ladies out there, I am sure that the development of the Bikini led to the development of the Speedo.

Please contact Jack at west@cyg.net if you can help out.

Regards,

Past President Jack

Anti-Blue Heron Defense System - Update

Word has spread throughout the forest among the woodland critters about Past-President-For-Life Jack's Anti-Blue Heron Defense System. A deer takes a moment to inspect the high-tech equipment and nibble on a few bushes.

President-for-Life Kent Chisholm

Kent Chisholm was installed as the 15th Club President of the Festival City Rotary Club on June 30th, 2009. Seen here with his wife Diane (R), and Mr. Rab-bit (L), official club mascot, Kent promised a benevolent dictatorship, community involvement, good fellowship and good meals with carrots for all.

Jack Gets the Boot

President Jack makes his final address to the Club as his year of office finishes.

Thanks for a great year Jack!
